Free 88/24 music download from Benchmark, makers of the DAC1!! - Page 5

Hi friends,

 

Thanks for being so enthusiastic with your support.

 

The Masters From Their Day project is being suspended indefinitely.  The reason is that Benchmark, the main financial supporters of the project, feel that the project is not generating enough of a return to justify the large expense.  They feel this way because they have not seen enough traffic through the MastersFromTheirDay.com site to the Benchmark site.

 

They have been very supportive of this project, but they cannot continue to invest in something that doesn't offer a return.  This is a very reasonable, rational, and prudent response on their behalf.  I completely understand it. 

 

We have one more episode shot that we will be releasing next month.  After that, the future of this project is uncertain.

 

Again, I'd like to thank you for your enthusiastic support.  Hopefully, in a few months, we can pick it up right where we left off.  We'll see...

Hi Elias,

 

I'm sorry to hear that the project is being abandoned, as the tracks are simply awesome, not just because they are great songs, but also because they are so well-recorded that I am using them in a special playlist I use to evaluate audio gear and headphones.  I really think that if Benchmark completed an album's worth of material that they could easily release a great CD.

We have one more episode in the works...it will be released in the VERY near future.  It features legendary indie-rock producer/engineer, John Agnello.  John does fantastic work, and his work in this video is no exception.  I'm really excited about it!

Elias, I am in the same boat as currawong.  I also have been using the tracks as reference recordings for gear.  Oh, and I also listen to them for pleasure.  smily_headphones1.gif  I'll continue to try to get the word out in whatever small way I can.  I look forward to the new (hopefully not final) episode.

Hey guys, quick question. What exactly does 88/24 mean. I know its 88,200 kHz and 24 bit and it sounds AMAZING! but what do those numbers really mean?

Good songs, interesting studio recording, very good equipment (Benchmark DAC) but the tracks are little overcompressed (not brick walled...) the tracks also in High resolution (24bit - 88khz)...

Sorry to be a bother, but how do I download the tracks? I've clicked the links, but I get redirected to a webpage with quicktime playback box...can I get these on my hard drive?

Probably the reason that there weren't many downloads,  the webpage designer should be sent to siberia.
