Any ideas on preventing hair loss? - Page 3

Thread Starter

Thanks guys (this is the OP speaking),

It appears from some of the responses that I may have overstated my 'problem'. I am not anywhere near going bald. If any of you saw me in real life you could not tell I have lost hair. I still have plenty of hair left, I simply noticed that I don't have as much as I used to...but you would have to be me in order to notice the loss.

My point is that 'get over it, shave your head bald' isn't realistic right now because I have so much hair left. It would be harder for me to stay bald right now than to keep my hair. I'm merely extrapolating into the future, so I figured if there is anything preventive I can do it would be worth asking about.

Thanks to this thread I've started using the dandruff shampoo Nizoral every other day. I already have a dandruff issue, so any DHT blocking from the 1% ketoconazole will be an additional plus. I'll wait on shaving my head bald or using Rogaine/Propecia when it gets that bad, since if I understand you guys right it seems to be overkill right now.

Once I hit ~35, I will be going bald in a bad, gross way, so all of these ideas are great for my future.

Well, just keep your hair and realize it won't be there forever. Do nothing.

When it gets too thin and looks "see through", then:

/end thread.

(There is no cure and it will make almost no difference in your life nor with women - now get on with being young before you end up my age.)

Or a hair transplant. Something of the sort.

Or alternatively, use it as a pickup like. "See these bumps? They're tumors. I'm going to die soon. Will you treat me to a night I'll never forget?"
