JH16Pro's and sweat - Page 2

Cable oxidation occurs because of moisture, so when you sweat on the cable all sorts of bad things can happen, and it depends on each person/cable as both have various compositions the react differently.  For example, my SM3 cable is starting to harden where I was sweating on it but my M6 cable never hardened when I used to use that long ago.

As far as moisture, I believe BAs are more susceptible to damage from moisture as once moister gets in the sound tube/driver it is much more difficult to have it dry out due to the small size and lack of air flow.  The do make hearing aid dryers that I would recommend using with your expensive custom IEMs, especially if you workout with them!

Running should be fine (use a headband if you want extra safety). Lifting is another issue though.. when you lift heavy weight you tend to contort your face, jaw, etc so you will lose your seal. I've used my 16's while lifting before and while benching my seal broke which was annoying. I will use my 16's once in awhile depending on what I'm doing, but my go to set are my monster turbines with comply foams since the foams wont break the seal not matter what you do to your face/jaw lol.

dude seriously... maybe you should consider something in the sub 1000 range for use during exorcise. just a suggestion. what do i know. ive got lots of other things i need 1000 dollars for.

at the very least if I WAS ballin hard enough to buy some jh16pros like a hardcore baller. they wouldn't be my workout set. maybe i'd get another set of shures.

Not sure why you would hear that?  A hard acrylic shell will never isolate as well as a foam-type comply tip.  Acrylic absorbs nothing.

i have access to 95% ethanol with 5% methanol. Anyone has ever tried using it on a let's say monthly basic to give the cables a little clean up? As far as i know, they are perfect when it comes to wanting to dry any physical surface or even dessicating of cells
