Was your replacement for another E+ or ES, which is the current $199 model on head-direct? Not sure what the difference is, if any.

Good eye, I got a e+ back.

There is a little bit of info in this thread

http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/506867/is-the-minibox-es-an-updated-minibox-e

Regardless, The e+ was over $200 + shipping on the site less then 2 months ago so I would think $180 shipped is more then fair for a brand new amp that pairs great with pk1's.

Did they return a refurb?  A lot of manufacturers are doing that now. Most people would buy the E+ NEW for $169 instead of a ??? for 180, don't you think?

I was told the amp is brand new and never used. You are incorrect,  The amp does not cost $169 on headdirect so $180 shipped for a brand new amp is a great deal.
