Waaah! My iPod hard drive is dead!

Lucky me I have another broken iPod[bad logic board] for donor parts, now to find it....

 

I've never had to open up an iPod before, but in the spirit of Top Gear, "How hard can it be?"

 

Lame to be without my portable, but it should be up and running soon enough.

 

I suppose this thread can be about sage advice from those who have been inside their iPod before or whatever.

So the HDD on your 4th Gen Ipod (Photo?) is dead? Your post confuses me.

Not photo, but yes. I suppose it was a rather pointless post, but I felt the need to complain to people who have undoubtedly felt a similar pain at some point.

When all else fails - there's always service manuals, even if they are third party. RTFA and good luck!
