Quick Question

Looking into replacing my iPod touch first generation as it has gotten a little old and I prefer something with better sound quality. The two main options I have been looking at are the Cowon J3 and the S:flo2.

My two methods for listening to music are:

Player plugged into car's headunit and play through aftermarket speakers. For this reason it would be nice if it had a usb out, which both do so this is not a problem.

The other is my UE Triple.Fi 10 iems plugged directly into the headphone jack.

My main question is which of these two devices has a better sq IYO and which one seems to be more regarded for its UI and convenience of use with blind controls. Any users who have one or both of these devices, your feedback is appreciated.

You might want to wait for the next generation Touch. Apple usually upgrades it along the lines of the latest iPhone, so something much improved (if the iPhone 4 is anything to judge by - I love mine) should be out at least a few months before the holidays.

Coming from a iPod Touch a s:flo2 will probably be an unwelcome slap in the face.

The UI leaves a lot to be desired, so does battery life and many people encounter problems.

It is a brilliant player for the price and the SQ is way ahead of anything else in its field but it does seem to fall down on some hurdles. It depends what you are willing to live with really.

I think the Cowon J3 is the player better suited to you. The UI and battery life is there as well as the other features that players like the iPod touch lack such as an expansion slot, customizable EQ and native FLAC support.

honestly though, I am done with apple, I feel as though their products are similar to bose in the overpriced for what you actually get. I will be getting a 4g phone soon so the smartphone-esque part of the ipod touch is not needed and I would rather go strictly for quality of the audio.

Thank you, this was exactly what i was looking for, I was leaning towards the J3 and I think that the battery life and the other features you mentioned do make for an excellent music player.

just go for cowon j3.... has blind controls, most beautifull batterry life, enough juice to drive any cans, and anything an man can desire from an music player (mjusic means not games), and videos/movies player....

i watch movies on mine, and they all look so beautifull....
