How many head-fi'ers does it take to change a lightbulb?

I know this looks bad, but I need assistance in changing some light bulbs.  These are the bulbs in question:

The bulbs have "Sylvania Dulux S" written on them, and they're 13 watt bulbs.  Has anyone changed one of these before?

Get off the internet, and take one of those bulbs to a local hardware store, Home Depot, Lowe's, or even Wal-mart.  Match it to something on the shelves.  Problem solved.

TEN! Just a joke.......You pull those lamps out and take one with you, as Omega said because they do come in different lengths..........PS don't forget to put the silver paste on the contacts before inserting each new bulb!!!! They'll put off a better shade of light.(get It?)

I don't know how to remove the bulbs.  Do I just pull them out?

chia-pet, just pull the bulb out by grasping the base, right behind the glass tube..you might check to make sure they don't use a safety clip of some kind......Those style should just pull out!! good luck, you might even wear some gloves or grab the tube with a towel just in case it would break,   save you from a nasty cut??

Those are pretty standard CF bulbs. Just pull them straight out and take them to a hardware store. You'll find a replacement easily.

Though you might want to look into the cryogenically treated models. When they're turned off, they make blacks blacker.

Also, those appear to be reading lamps. So you might find them in a different section from the regular bulbs at the store.

 

And that stock wiring looks nasty. Definitely get that recabled with 1% gold wire at least. Night and day difference, I tell you. Especially after burn in.

That looks like a vintage dual mono fluorescent vacuum tube amplifier rated at 13 watts/channel. Those fluorescent tubes have to be matched else you will hear a channel imbalance. Good luck.

Yep. Also make sure to turn of the power off before you change them out.

 

As for cleaning, I'd recommend using some Isopropyl alcohol.

Originally my plan was to pull one of the bulbs out and take it to Home Depot to find a suitable replacement.  Instead I went to Home Depot and found the replacement bulbs first.  After seeing a new bulb outside of its socket, I realized where the base begins and had no trouble pulling it out.
