Bookshelf speakers for Jolida 202A tube amp

Hi everyone,

First post here and I need some help.  I live in an area where there are literally no hi-end audio stores to test speakers.  So, I purchased B&W 685's to paid with my Jolida 202A tube amplified.  B&W 685's get good reviews as a brand generally, so I thought I would be safe.  Wrong.  Apparently, my tube amp is great but it needs speakers with stable impedance, which the B&W 685's do not have, fluctuating from 3.7 ohms all the way up.  So, now my question is, what bookshelf speakers should I get, roughly $500 bucks or less, to replace my B&W's?  I understand that Paradigm's speakers may qualify as having stable impedance.

Can anyone confirm?

Thanks very much for any assistance.

Alex

I recently bought a pair of NOS Clememt 105di bookshelf speakers from Audiogon. The seller also has the next model up the 107, check them out.

Hi I know the paradigm titan and atoms dont have a stable impedance, they dont sound good with tube amps. Your  amp is 40 watts so you dont really need high sensitivity speakers either I know alot of nice speakers for tube amps but theyre mainly high sensitivity ones like tektons and omegas.
