Audio Sources with Digital Output

Need advise on some portable audio sources with digital output to connect to my Benchmark HDR/Naim Headline2 setup at home, apart from a Denon SACD Player (which doesn't play mp3). Currently have Apple dock with different iPods, but realize the sound quality lacks even compared to 6 year old Creative Nomad Muvo2.

Looking at Cowon q5w or v5 which support SPDIF, inclined toward q5w as it comes with remote and higher capacity and video and weight really don't matter as I only listen to music at home late nights.

Apple options would be Wadia dock or iPad with camera connector..not very keen.

Mainly I listen to full size headphones AKG701, GS1000, ATW5000, AHD5000 and HD650.

Please suggest if there are any alternatives and which would be better from the perspective of playing compressed audio. Sound quality and support for lossless format matter the most.

Thanks for the reply. There are power interruptions on a daily basis where I live and I found it cumbersome to get my wireless router, squeezbox, laptop with external disk working everytime when I want to listen to music. Anything which would be easy to start, shutdown would be very helpful as I also have a naughty 3 year old daughter and I need to keep my stuff in a cupboard when I am away. This is my bedside rig and have limited space as well. My knowledge on digital media players is very limited and I would be greatful if you can let me know if there are any less cumbersome options for digital media, which would provide the sound quality comparable to Denon DCD 1500 SACD player through the Benchmark and Naim HA.
