Spotify fans: What do you think about Spotify's SQ?

Hi,

Spotify (Premium) is my main source because I don't use any CD player. I'm not sure if its SQ is as good as MP3 320 kbps?

Thanks!

I remember that Spotify Premium is Ogg Vorbis @ 320 kbps, which would be better than mp3 @ 320 kbps.

The free version of Spotify has 160 kbit OGG. As stated above premium has 320 kbit OGG. I don't think many (if anyone) hear any difference between 320 OGG and 320 MP3 though.

It's all theoretical with a little guessing game of course, at lower bitrates ogg vorbis has a slight advantage in blind tests, it's [ossible that such an advantage remains @320 kbps but no blind tester ever detected it accurately, but non blind testing seem to indicate lossless>aac>mpc>vorbis>(lame mp3) if all of them are at 320 kbps. I wouldn't consider those tests reliable but that the only "knowledge" we have about it.
