FOR SALE - DECWARE CSP2 HEAD/PREAMP

Thread Starter

DECWARE CSP2 tubed preamplifier and headphone amplifier. SOLD The unit is in mint condition. I purchased the unit, Serial no. #43, in August, 2008. Being offered for $650.00. The original retail price was $795.00 but there has just been a price increase on the unit. It is now $895.00, which makes this one a great value.

I have been using this unit in my office for some time; due to a change in my work I am no longer using the headphone feature that much.

For those who do not know about this unit, lots of favorable comment can be found on the DECWARE site, and on Head-Fi in a thread about the CSP2.

It is excellent for a preamplifier. The unit has 2 inputs to accommodate 2 different sources. You can control the gain separately for each channel through small pots on the rear of the unit. As a headphone amplifier it will drive any kind of phones, high impedance, such as Sennheisers or low impedance, such as GRADOS. I have both and have used both with the unit.

You valve swappers out there will enjoy the possibilities that the unit presents with the 6N1P, 6922; 7308; ECC88; E88CC tubes out there. It can use either 5Y3GT or 5U4GB tube rectification; others have used different rectifier tubes than those.

As part of the sale, I will send the unit to the DECWARE factory to be checked out at my cost. DECWARE will then send the unit to the new purchaser with a renewed lifetime warranty to the new purchaser; per DECWARE policy. You pay shipping from DECWARE in Illinois. This means that if anything wears out on it you can send it back to the factory and they will fix it for free and apply any updates that may have been instituted on the unit. I will include a set of tubes and a power cord.

Below are the specifications for the unit from the DECWARE site:

The DECWARE website has not been updated yet to reflect the price increase. If you don't believe me, talk to Steve.
