I *think* there is going to be a T5 and T5p - different cans - but I am just guessing.

Haha, looks like your wish for a closed 600 ohms T1 might happens afterall nice! If only it has detachable cable system....and which doesn't negatively affect sound.

Lots of conjecture, but still no confirmation from Jude.

Are these "open" or "closed"? 32-ohm or 250-ohm?

How can Beyer announce a pair of headphones without this crucial info reported? How can samples be out there for so long with no confirmation?

that makes two of us.

make it three

Sorry, guys, I didn't realize that the fact that it's closed and 32 ohms wasn't firmly established--my bad.

The beyerdynamic T5p is closed, 32 ohm nominal impedance, and one of my new favorite high-end headphones, given what I've found to be exceptional versatility, and overall performance in a wide variety of setups. It responds well to amping, but still performs very well driven directly by the portable devices and amps I've used with it so far.

I'll say more about it very soon.

Here's a link to a photo of the rig I've been using it in most the last few days:

Any idea if it folds in any way?

Looks at photo... no folding short of Hulk SMASH method.

Yeah, looks like it. Still, I am waiting for these to become available and hope I will be able to afford them.

Thanks for the informations.

Nice setup. Heavy portable rig ..... :) (I think I will wait for the second or third generation iPad. It may become lighter and faster ....)

Would be interested how the t5p compares to the T1. Does it have the same sound signature, resolution?

(Just a technical question. Which cable does Beyerdynamic use for the T5p? For the T1 they use the Sommer Peacock Mk II (OFC) dual mic cable.)

Cheers

Reiner
