beyerdynamic T5p: Photos and first impressions. - Page 102

The HD800 has it's treats like soundstage and imaging, but in terms of detail retrieval I don't see it as having edge over the T5p. Regarding tonality, I actually prefer the T5p - in particular the bass seems fuller sounding and better controlled, and the lower treble sounds more natural. Out of the two IMO the T5p is more fun.

Wow, nice work there. I actually originally went to Brian to get my mini-XLR connectors put in, but he wasn't able to for some reason. Great guy, great work, great pricing. Another thumbs-up guy for me ;).

Thanks for the notes! You helps me to decide to go this route, and I appreciate it. To know, the THG hundred connectors do cost a bit more to install from Brian, but given the result they seem well worth it.

About a month ago I received the Fazored LCD-2 and have been listening to it exclusively (new-toy syndrome I guess).  Yesterday I decided to do a quick A/B between the LCD-2 and the T5p and I was pleasantly surprised at what the T5p had to offer.  The lively treble and the wide soundstage of the T5p were a breath of fresh air after a month of the LCD-2's lush/warm sound presentation.  Just some quick thoughts .

The track I used to A/B the headphones was "Prime Directive" by the David Holland Quintet.

After being used to Beyerdynamic headphones for years I can never stand the dark heavy LCD-2 headphones when I listen to them at meets. They are just too different. I might be able to get used to them after some time but the LDC-house sound has never been my cup of tea. So I have to say you have got two very different headphones there :normal_smile :
