beyerdynamic T5p: Photos and first impressions. - Page 101

I've had my T5p for a few months now, and despite this being a "portable" can, it hasn't left my computer workstation.  Unfortunately, any small movement that causes the cable to move, creates static and cutting-out of the right earphone.  Very troubling and annoying for such a high-end can.  I can only imagine if I actually used this as my daily portable, and took it around town, cable in-and-out of my pocket, etc.

It sounds like those of you who have gotten repairs from Beyer have had recurrences of this issue.  Is re-cabling really the only solution here?

Recently Beyer started replacing the cables with more robust ones. I haven't heard any reports of these breaking again.

And the work he did was solid, including fixing the vibration issue I had caused by a single #$% hair that was driving me nuts tongue.gif
I hope so!
He has my beyers now, so now comes the waiting game. Its funny, there is no audible buzz when listening to a song as a whole, only when i am mixing individual low end frequencies do i get the problem. If i were just a casual listener of music i probably would have never noticed it.

Mine was only audible during specific frequencies, and only in one channel. It's the sort of thing that tells you how remarkably clear the T5p sound is-- you can literally detect the resonance issues caused by a single human hair. Really impressive, IMO.

So apparently peter changed both t5p drivers. There was only a resonance issue in the right driver though... I don't think my headphones were listened to before they repaired it. They sounded great.

I just hope the issue is resolved either way

The headphones should arrive tomorrow or Monday hopefully they are perfect now

So I got back the headphones today.... Brand new drivers and it looks like they redid the inside of the material that covers the exterior of the outside area of the driver too. It sounds like "new drivers" so ill have to burn them in but thats kool because the resonance is gone :) , And they did an amazing job on them!

Sound Surgeon had a reasonable price on the drivers and was super speedy on them, only took them a day to repair them the day they received them and shipped them out the following monday. AWESOME
