I emailed to JH Audio before so I know, that sometimes I have to email them twice just to get a reply...I know they are busy with orders, which I can't blame them.

shigzeo is going to hate me for derailing this thread so many times...

I think they were really busy with all the backlog a while ago, but now they seem to have caught up. It takes around 10 days to get it I believe. I don't think there will be any discount on the Em3Pro soon

koonhua90, congrats on your JH16 purchase!

The EM3 Pro better clarity throughout the mids and the treble is very similar between the SM3 with custom tips and the EM3 Pro.  The EM3 Pro might have a little more treble energy, but not enough to say the sound signature is different IMO.  The T1 has more treble energy and a different sound signature.

I don't expect any price down or discount for EM3Pro lol :)

Thanks for the comparison. EM3Pro seems very promising then :) Though I am already leaning towards EarSonics.

anyone knows if theres a place to demo these in london or paris? i wouldn't mind flying up to have a listen.. unlikely anyone on my island would have them. having heard the jh16 i'd have a good idea how they'd match up..

dude, if you're gonna fly then you might as well drop by their place, they're near montpellier.

pocket a few sm3's if you get the chance

You don't even have to be sneaky about it.  Just grab em and run.  They are French, they'll give up pretty quick.

Just Kidding!

I'm not sure if I'll have the time to drop by southern France just to have a listen. Paris would be pushing it to be honest, as I'll be in London for most of my stay. So if anyone knows where I could demo in either major city please let me know.

handheldaudio are in london arent they?

they may or may not have the em3 but they should have sm3's so you get an idea of what they sound like.

Yeah, they're in Enfield, which is North London.  They do, I believe, offer both the SM3s and the EM3 Pros. Worth checking with them directly though.

thanks a bunch fellas! I'll drop them an email before going up.

What I wonder about is how the quality of contruction of the EarSonics compare to the JH's, especially reading how KLS has broken his SM3 when changing eartips. Also I would hope that at this pricepoint that neither the ES nor the JH's should have microphonic cord issues. My Monster Miles Davis at only $400 have absolutely no microphonics.

Build quality of SM3 is questionable. However I think that the build quality of EM3Pro, or any other custom IEMs, should be better than SM3. If I am not mistaken, the shell of EM3Pro is made from hard acrylic with silicone filled inside the shell, protecting the drivers and increase isolation as well.

That's my understanding as well. I've been looking into customs and sadly very few have silicone inside the shell outside of Earsonics and a couple other manufacturers.

^ ditto.

i can get back to being a clumsy bastard

I thought it was acrylic as well.  Someone else did the silicone filler I thought.
