iPod acting really weird

Thread Starter

Hey guys,

So I've got the iPod classic (latest generation - 160 gigs) and the volume control is acting really strange. Instead of smoothly rising and lowering when I circle the touch control with my thumb, it jumps up in huge increments unless I move my thumb really slowly. Why the heck is this? It wasn't always like this. It only got this way recently, in the last few months.

And if I try using the "reset to factory defaults" option in iTunes, will this erase everything on my iPod?

In case anyone finds this thread and is having a similar problem, doing a system reset totally fixes this problem. Press and hold the menu button and the center button for like... 10 seconds or so, and your iPod will restart, and everything will be fine!! smily_headphones1.gif

Iwas going to ask if it's started to work out lately & gotten a new wardrobe,... then I'd REALLY worry!!!

Seriously, I have this issue happen on occasion, as the classic 7G just isn't as smooth an operator as

my 5.5G 80gb model. Still, I love it, and it's my #1!!!
