hi there, my feedback thread is available here: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f12/leeperry-407556/

I'm selling a Sony MDR-CD900ST, hardly burned in and totally mint. Sony say that it's using all their headphones technology: http://translate.google.com/translate?l=en&sl=ja&u=http://www.smci.jp/MDR-CD900ST/

Sony boasts the world's most advanced technology

You can read nikongod's opinion about the cd900st at the end of this thread, together w/ some Japanese cd3k owners opinions as well(they say that "it lets you hear each tree instead of hearing the forest"): http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/310323/slight-cd3000-refurbishment-not-too-56k-unfriendly/45

CD900st are awesome.

They are impossible to find second hand, but when you do the fact that basically nobody outside of Japan knows what they are drives the price down. "a hopped up MDR-V6, I burst my side laughing"

If you find a set second hand get them.

another review from another R10 owner: http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/506199/sony-mdr-r10-what-is-the-fuss-about/60#post_6881378

the CD900ST does have some special characteristics. It can sound more natural/realistic with many top notch recordings of acoustical/instrumentals of a realistic/purist nature than even the R10 in my experience. [..] I find the Omega 2 to be slightly better overall on music genres, but the CD900ST is superior on some acoustic/natural presentations.

and there's a quick review here: http://jaben.net/forums/index.php?topic=7587.150

It's not the CD900ST that's expensive, it's the CDs it will make me throw away.

It's indeed a very unforgiving cans. So far it the most transparent and neutral cans I've heard.

and here again, from the same author,  comparing it to an Edition9: http://www.sgheadphones.net/index.php?showtopic=9338

Waah this were very surprising. It were soo light and still pack the details and the punch I want. Need to find these babies when I get home.

They have an even wider SS than the HFI-780 to my ears, sound very neutral and make the cd3k sound colored. Isolation is also very good, they use a much higher drivers grade and thicker earpads than the MDR-V6, only sharing the same shell.

I'm willing to let it go for $OLD shipped worldwide via insured/registered priority mail. I will declare a low customs value so you won't have to pay for import taxes, and will include another pair of earpads that fit perfectly and are a bit thicker/wider(they come from a CD999).

Hey, got a pair of Sony CD1700's I was thinking about performing a driver transplant on, but they sounded nice enough after swapping the cloth pads out with a pair of faux leather ones I sort of had second thoughts. If you're interested in the spare drivers, though, that takes some of the guilt of tearing open a pair of perfectly decent sounding headphones off my shoulders. I'd be willing to let them go for $30 shipped. Lmk.
