Hi,

basicly i am looking for a DYI kit that results in something like the musiland USD, and i am unsure if i should just buy a musiland and mod it or buy a DYI kit. I can not decide because i do not know apropriate kits ;) Any suggestions?

As far as I know, only up to 48kHz is supported natively in the USB spec.  After that you need to write drivers.

For PCM270x/PCM290x it is 48kHz max, try to find another USB receiver.

IIRC, it has nothing to do with the USB spec that limits the audio.  It is the receiver chip in the DAC you are connecting to.

Some chips are limited such as the one fallen mentioned above.

YOu can get USB DAC's that are limited and others that allow full 24/192Khz.

That is true.  But native support in OS requires the USB spec support which is limited 48/16k.  higher support requires drivers.

any unit running the Tenor TE7022L chip will do 24/96 over USB w/o drivers(KS/WASAPI/A4A compatible too): http://www.gfec.com.tw/ics.php
