Nintendo Handheld Thread

Since there seems to be enough fans on here I decided to go ahead and make a thread. Talk about your favorite games or the upcoming 3ds, or post pictures of your current setup. My phat finally broke back in April while I was trying to repair the broken shell on it, it was a nice run and I bought the same color lite in loving memory when SoulSilver came out. Excuse phone camera :X

LMAO, I was going to make a "gaming rig pics" thread, but you beat me to it! Curses! lol

Here's my "rig"dslite2.jpg

The AR is pretty much useless as the AK2 has one built in, but I don't know how to use it      :( . Can anyone help me out?

I can't tell you how because unfortunately I don't have a modchip :(

What's the homebrew like for them?

I'm not really sure... I haven't messed around with that yet except for Moonshell, which does all kinds of cool things. dfkt might know more... he seems to be more knowledgeable about such things. Just got Megaman Zero collection... looking forward to playing it!

BTW, here's where I got my AceKard2: http://www.ozmodchips.com/ds-and-ds-lite-flash-cards-c-8_9.html

I was going to link to dealextreme, where I bought mine for $12. But it seems they no longer carry it. Oh, and the EZ 3-in-1 is a valuable addition to the acekard.

EDIT: This price is more like it: http://www.realhotstuff.com/-c-124_99.html

MORE EDIT: Apparently dealextreme got a DMCA takedown notice for the AK2. But their sister site has it. http://www.volumerate.com/details.vr/sku.18728

Mega Man Zero has a DS compilation? I loved those games on the GBA! I'll have to check tit out sometime.

Heart Gold and the Pokewalker are probably the best things that have ever happened to me.

GBAtemp's sister site filetrip.net has a huge collection of NDS homebrew. You'll be amazed, there's web browsers, chat clients, ports of classic games and emulators, even a SIP-based VOIP client for crying out loud. The Escapist Magazine had a nice overview of some of the gems a while back.

Thank or the links, some very cool stuff! Does anyone have a link to a good cheatcode source for these cards?

My favorite homebrew for the DS is the port of Knytt Stories: http://rodrigoroman.com/rrc2soft/nds_dsknytt.html - this is one amazingly captivating and atmospheric "Zen-platformer", don't let the graphics deceive you.

The official cheat database hasn't been updated in a long time, but some other kind soul maintains an up-to-date temp database with all new game codes: http://cheats.gbatemp.net/Temp/

huddler is tiresome

An old pic, but my gaming rig still sounds better than the rest. ;)

Thanks, I'll check those out. Btw, Megaman zero collection is awesome so far, with hand drawn anime cut scenes that are beautiful.

Better than that massive amp behind it with whatever the source is? Or just your other portable rigs?
