Songs to test 'speed' of a HP?

Thread Starter

I need a few reference tracks to test the 'speed' or decay of my ES10s, because I believe they may be faster than the average dynamic. Could anyone offer any extremely fast, complex pieces for the ES10 to devour? Genre doesn't matter, but a crystal clear, well done, uncompressed production would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hot for teacher Van Halen.

Tool - Ticks & Leeches is my go-to song for putting any speaker through its paces.

Also, YYZ by Rush, the live version from "Exit.. stage left" and anything actually from Dire Straits.

Like A Dog Chasing Cars from the Dark Knight OST, shame it clips though.

I'd recommend Obscura - "The Anticosmic Overload". My lust for a Stax Lambda went overboard when I tested this track with it - the Lambda never choked throughout all its insanely technical passages where the fretless bass was doing its own thing amidst the leads and double bass assault.

Some oldies but goodies:

Take Five by the Dave Brubeck Quartet

Let A Smile Be Your Umbrella - Bing Crosby
