I want to branch out to other genres...

Thread Starter

I am looking for a sonic wonder.  The only genre that I listen to, that is truly a massage to my ear, is post rock(godspeed you black emperor, pelican, russian circles).

Now I listen to predominantly metal (Drone, Sludge and Stoner Metal are really nice to listen to) but I really want to try some 'new' stuff out. Death Metal and my HD650's don't really mix. So anyone want to recommend some stuff to listen to, maybe more post rock, electronica of some sort(Industrial is another favorite) or anything else? I want some great sounding music, to listen to when I just want to 'chill'

The greatest band you've never heard:

The Young Gods

In the words of Mike Patton "They are a truly special band".  In terms of your tastes and suggestions, they've pretty much got it covered.

Displacer and Gridlock are pretty cool electronic/industrial artists.

I have a similar love for post, math rock and metal, so try the recommendations here

I would add a thumbs up for the recommendation for Silver Machines and add the Polish band Riverside to that.
