Sold: Grado SR-80i (Modded).

  Up for sale are my much loved Grado SR-80i Headphones.  I'm looking to move up the Grado ladder, but these headphones have performed Awesomely!  They have the following Mods.

 

  • Sanded external housings and polished.
  • Grill mod (plastic grills have been removed and replaced with more open metal mesh).
  • Internal housings damped with Felt.
  • Re-wired with Mogami W2534, covered in Nylon Multi-filament TechFlex (terminated in 1/4" Neutrik Plug)
  • HD414 pads Quarter modded and reversed (and dyed Black).  Including second set of pads (also quarter moded and dyed black) and stock pads.

 

 

Asking $110 Shipped (CONUS Only).  Item will ship in original packaging (headphones are 2 mos. old).

I've decided, not to go up the Grado ladder, but to try the Astro A30 Headphones instead.  If you have a set of A30 headphones that you'd like to trade for a dedicated pair of headphones (that sound FANSTASTIC).  Then PM Me and we'll discuss details of transaction.

I never realized how unattractive Grados look.

I would buy these if I hadn't bought (by proxy) a pair of M50s from Shake.

Grados aren't the prettiest cans... but at least with the Sanding/Polishing Mod... they look GREAT as far as Grados go.
