I came across this set of speakers recently, when i was shopping around. Has anyone tried it, and how does it compare with the Audioengine A2's, which i was planning to get?

I live in Singapore, so the Creative speakers are cheaper. Creative - $279 vs A2's - $340.

Those look like re-branded BOSE speakers.

Through good engineering, a lot of the flaws can be somewhat compensated for so it sounds decent, but I think they compromised a lot by trying to fit everything into a tiny sealed enclosure with single full-range drivers.

The A2's also have a relatively small enclosure, small woofers and lacks a subwoofer, but I think audioengine trys to make up for that by boosting the mid-bass.

Don't get me wrong, I think both are very nice "PC speakers", and both should perform admirably but in absolute terms, i definitely think you can do better if you don't need the small/attractive form factor.

btw, I've only heard the a2's for a very short period of time... the bass did seem just slightly overwhelming and synthetic but not enough to be distracting.  Still an overall enjoyable sound.
