My reaction to Ultrasone having the gall to ask $3200+ for one of their headphones went something like this.

my reaction was decidedly less shocked.

after all, they have three other Edition headphones thus far.  and each of the three have pushed the price point...

Tbh i admire Ultrasones willingness to strive for perfection even though it might not be profitable.

They make everything from 50$ to 3500$ As long as they don´t stop making the budget models no reason to complain I feel. Though if it´s ED 8 with huge soundstage and more air I will bang my head for eternity for not allowing myself to own one :p

Hopefully in some years time they will offer an ED 10 in plastics at much more reasonable levels. It´s the sound I am after first of all afterall.

MY OPINION- There not as nice as the Ultrasone 8/ Ruthanium edition? You agree?

Those look like they'd be much more comfortable than the ED8s; at least to me. Even though I like their look and color scheme, the ED8s didn't even impress me enough to even consider these. :( I guess I'll have to go back to Japan to try these guys. :p

I think mine was more like OMG cat.

I'll pass.

Cats are awesome. That´s all I have to say at the moment. :D

LOL...these just made the T1s (even after the introductory price) seem a lot more affordable.

these look sweet but the company is being wayyyyy greedy, 300-500 higher than edition 8 might be reasonable, but not over twice the cost of what is already the most expensive can on the high end

Yes but that is a given since they are so bigger... Bigger means more ugly on the head for me anyway.

Can only speculate about comfort but apart from obviously being 100 % circumaural I would hope that Ultrasone make sure there is less clamping force then on the ED 8. It´s good on the ED 8 since it helps isolation and getting a good seal but not needed on the open ED 10. Same headband make you wonder though. Maybe you can bend it out I haven´t attempted such a thing on mine since I am afraid of loosing isolation. Perforated leather should help if you live in hotter countries then I do I am sure as well.

Eh, it doesn't look that huge to me. I doubt it's much bigger than an AH-D5000. Anyway, I really like the looks. I think it looks classy. I agree that the metals could be a little more coordinated, but the higher resolution pictures really make the headphones look a world better than the cheapo pictures we got at first did. I doubt I'll buy them (quite expensive, and I don't really like open headphones), but I'll be interested in hearing them.

I'd like to see that happen with sennheiser and beyerdynamic at some time too, bring the advanced technologies to more affordable products.

I'd prefer Bonnie Raitt over Alison Krauss.

If people think that these headphones look big, they've never seen the Orpheus in all it's glory.

BTW- That cat is too freaky.
