Phonak PFE: Have you ever tried to clean the filters?

Has anybody ever tried to clean the filters of the Phonak PFE phones? Maybe with a tiny brush, or using some alcohol or alike? I know there are replacement filters available but I hesitate to dispose something just because it may have caught some dirt, without at least having tried a cleaning.

Hi, I know this post is quite old but I found it today before trying to clean filters in my Phonaks, and this is what i did:

I put a few drops of hydrogen peroxide on filters and let it work for about a minute and then just washed it gently with clean water and let them dry up... Now they are good as new :-)

Digging this up from the dead to confirm that this works just fine. Sure beats buying new.

I do love these headphones.

Second that. Tried today. Works perfectly. Next step - clean my ears.
