Just want to clear up the above bit of misinformation.

The β22 circuit design (and its companion σ22 power supply) has not changed since their introduction in 2006.  Many hundreds have been built and are being used daily.  I would hardly call them "a constant work in progress".  Since it's a DIY project, each builder would customize the specific build configuration and casing/aesthetics to his/her own requirements & preference.  That's a benefit of the nature of the project, not a negative.

If you're not able to DIY, there are professional builders listed at the β22 website, who have been building these amp for years, with plenty of track record, and do provide warranty and support.

I've owned both the GS-X and a 4 board Beta22 simultaneously and I would strongly dispute that they sound identical. They both sound very good but there are definite difference in sound. 

I suspect build quality is makes a huge difference for Beta22 builds.
