Headphone Repair!

Thread Starter

In my efforts to save the environment from the tossing of millions of broken headphones and also to save people like myself that love music through a nice working pair of headphones, I have begun offering my electronic skills and started a Headphone Repair Service. In the last few Months I have fixed over 70 pairs of headphones with problems ranging from Bad wire and jacks to creating new plastic parts and reinforcing them so they wont break again! Since I have been tracking, I have saved people around $8600 in the cost of buying new gear.

If you are someone that just doesn't want to mess with fixing your own headphones or just don't have the time, I am your man! I have begun getting some nice reviews on Yelp and google maps (search headphones repair nyc) from very happy people that now have the full sound restored to their beloved headphones.

I would be happy to help and answer any questions you have if you are going to try to fix them yourself as I have come up with some really great solutions to many of the common and not so common issues that happen to Headphones. I have had success with most brands including Bose, Seinheiser, Beats by dr dre, Panasonic, Sony, Audio Technica, Able Planet and the list goes on!

Also, I offer my service for a very reasonable price. I am a Bass player for the Band Vinyette ( www.vinyette.com) and have a special interest in the quality of your audio experience. I'm not about making a ton of money and ripping people off like a lot of these headphone companies, its about quality music and making headphones last so they don't add to the overflowing landfills we have today.

I just charge $25 for a basic wire repair and $35 to replace broken plastic parts. If your interested or would like some more info and to see some pictures of the work I have done, please visit www.myspace.com/headphonesrepair  There you will also find my contact info. Feel free to shoot a line or call if you have any questions. I service NYC for drop offs and on site repair and also accept mail ins from all over the US.

Best,

Jay

Headphones Repair - Green Patch Cable

Just emailed this upstanding gentlefiend regarding a few strands of exposed wire and a ground issue.  The phones I've chosen for repair aren't terribly high end, which makes them perfect for the experiment.

I'll be happy to post here describing the result if anyone's interested (or hasn't already done so on a different thread).
