I got a universal IEM (Miles Davis Tribute that sound great) thinking that I surely could find comfortable tips but have tried many including the new ones from Monster that still feel uncomfortable after awhile, and am now thinking I should have just went with custom JH13's. I note something that seems to be true; Kliptch X10's say that they are more comfortable because they are oval and not round because that is the real shape of the human earcanal. When you stick your finger in your ear, it is true that it feels more oval than round. So why then are they the only ones that seem to make their buds oval and why aren't there tips that are oval? It makes me curious to see how comfortable the X10's are and how the sound would compare to the MD's.

Kliptch X10 oval shape make a difference?
Gear mentioned in this thread:
I have the X5's and they have a better fit (with the large over gels) than any other IEM I have tried -- I've tried about ten.

The white hybrid foam supertips are uncomfortable? But yes the oval x5/X10's are very comfortable from the reviews. I think you need to find out if your ears maybe require customs. You can always make custom sleeves for universals too if you really like the sound of a phone. They do sell the Klipsch tips.

Not that they're uncomfortable, just not as good a fit as a couple others. I can't think of the brand of tips that fit the best, but I'm Ok for about a half-hour and then I really get tired of having them in my ears. Some people say that they forget they have anything in their ears but it's never been like that for me so far. How would I go about getting custom sleeves for my MD's? Would I get my impressions and send them to Monster, or send to someplace else that does it? I really appreciate your help!

Just saw a post below about Fisher Hearing that looks like they might do cutom sleeves except they are in Florida. Anybody know of a place close to Midwest/Chicago that does custom sleeves?
