Seems from reading on this forum (and others) that quite a few people HAD a DA10 or DA11 but have since moved on. There are also quite a few posts where people seem to be very pleased with them right after they get them. So I'm trying to figure out if there is a common weakness to look for when I audition one.

The Benchmark is known for its 'thinness' or lack of 'music character' or 'grainy treble' even though quite a few posters disagree with this too.

I understand there are better DAC's and more expensive DAC's but still wonder if there is one or two common traits that get on people's nerves over time.

So if you don't mind sharing and owned a DA10 or DA11 but no longer do please let me know what you found missing and what DAC you own now if you still think it is better for you than the Lavry.

No way am I bashing either the Benchmark or the Lavry as I haven't heard either and quite a few people really, really like them both.

I only use my DAC's with my headphones (HD650). If you used your Lavry with speakers I'd still be interested in why you upgraded but would like to know if you used it with phones too.
