I need an opinion.

Thread Starter

I'm looking for a pair of over the ear headphones,

I'm looking at 6 main factors:

          1.Sound Quality

          2.MP3 compatibility (http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=clip%2B&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=11015102590424990678&ei=XXkXTN2lBoa8lQeE_fnYCw&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=result&resnum=4&ved=0CCsQ8wIwAw#)

3.Style, must not be ugly. Preferably something like the skullcandy line but without the super powered bass. Ex. http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=SKullcandy+gi+black&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=1106822497386804026&ei=M3oXTLalMcKclgfpoI2VDA&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CC0Q8wIwAA#

          4. Sound containment.  I'll be wearing this on the school bus so i don't want anyone to bug me about it.

          5. Hopefully something that doesnt need amps or anything weird because I'm more of an electronics user, not maker ;)Altough if there are mods for the headphones I might make them.

           6. Price, 40 - 100 dollars.

Thanks :D

Sennheiser HD438 maybe? I've heard people call them Skullheisers more than once. Good SQ, solid bass, funky looks (you asked for it).

M50, ES7 for smaller profile

Oh man, Skullcandy again.... no, just....no.

If you want gaudy headphones, no decent pair is gonna look like THOSE.

Most everything in your price range will sound fine straight from a portable mp3 player.  My personal favorite headphones in terms of looks is the ATH M50.  My portable headphone of choice is the KSC75, but they're supra-aural not circumaural. Sounds like you just want a basic pair of closed headphones.  One other closed headphone I've owned is the Denon D-1001 but I don't think it will block out a lot of noise.  Also liked the Equation RP-21s but their looks might not be to your liking.
