Wow these K340 sound good. I tried swapping the modded screen with my other pair, and I think they sound more balanced with the stock screen. The other one gave them a strange dip in the lower treble, and a bit too much treble. I'd love to hear them with a better amp.

Well I was just talking about the screen mod. I think some K340's do need mods to balance them out. The modded pair I have has more treble and is harsher than the stock NOS pair, and a lot of clay was added to the inside of the cups, which the previous owner said cut down on the treble and made them smoother. Which means that stock, they were harsher/more treble than they are now. Quite a bit of variation in these phones!
However, I could see someone liking my modded pair more. Many head-fiers like more treble than I do.
