This has amp works well with a wide range of speakers and might embarrass your current amp if you have high efficiency Klipsch, Altec, etc. It is the MKIII version of ArjenHelder's Tripath TA2020 amp. Info here;
I built it into an aluminum pan with nice quality binding posts and input jacks. I installed a DPDT switch on the front panel that in the down position charges the SLA battery and in the up position powers the board from the battery(completely removing the charging unit from the circuit). The DPDT switch is a center off model so it must be in the down position to be charging. Bottom plate is 1/2" acrylic and the overall dimensions are 12" deep x 8 5/8" wide x 4 3/4" tall and about 10lbs. Trickle charger included, of course. I have been able to run my stereo all day from a charge and you should be able to do the same unless; your speakers are very inefficient or you listen very loud for extended periods. Asking for $150 plus shipping.
