I have a pair of IE8s I bought directly from Sennheiser USA in December 2008. Recently, I noticed one of the channels had a slightly lower output than the other which was easily corrected by unplugging the cable at the earphone end and replugging it in, thus cleaning the connector pins. I assumed the tiny pins were becoming corroded and contacted Sennheiser and they agreed to send me a new cable under warranty. When I got the cable, I realized they sent me a short version which is 25" long. I contacted them again and they sent me another cable, this time the stock length.
Meanwhile, as all this was going on, I became interested in the Victor/JVC HA-FX700s and ended up buying a pair. So now, I want to sell my IE8s for $250. This price includes the earphones in perfect working order, 2 stock length cables, 1 25" cable, the container box for the earphones, the small cleaning tool/screwdriver for adjusting the bass and 1 pair of Comply T400s to get one started. I do not have any of the tips that came with the IE8s since I sold them because I preferred the Complys. Also, the original box that everything came in is included. Everything is in excellent condition.
The stock cable that caused the slightly lower output works fine now that I've cleaned it thoroughly, but it will be nice to have the 2 extra Sennheiser cables which have never been used. These extra cables normally sell for about $30-$40 apiece, so I feel my asking price of $250 is fair. Shipping is $10 USPS Priority Mail Insured. Paypal is fine.
