Anyone have these, or know where I can get them for a good price? Some audio outlets are expensive..

There's a pic on the first page of Penchum's old ZERO review.

Thanks.

opa627sells on ebay. Browndog adapters depending on config will have to be bought seperately. Also ebay search for zero dac. Someone may have the mod.

Be very careful if buying opamps from eBay though. Lots of fakes out there, especially for those chips that normally are expensive.

I get mine from Newark, Digikey or Mouser. Those are the big 3 "official" suppliers in North America. Bought OPA627 from Newark.com because it seemed a bit cheaper, but it was the same in the end because of the higher shipping. There are other suppliers listed on www.ti.com (Texas Instruments).

But adapters are different. Not much point in having fakes for that. There are a few eBay sellers providing cheaper alternatives to the Browndogs. Typically the same ones who also sell the cheap 627 chips. I use eBay adapters myself. But I have read accounts of genuine Browndogs sounding better. I can't really think of a good reason why that would be though. If you do go for eBay adapters or chips, make sure they package it well in a box, or with hard foam to protect the metal pins.

AudiophileProducts sells pre-mounted 627 chips on Browndog adapters. The price makes me wonder, but they seem to be a reputable source. They bought in bulk, I guess.
