The Ety tri-flanges also have extreme isolation but I don't know anyone that would use that tip on a Shure product.  More likely a single silicone type tip which would provide less isolation.  I would gauge 20-25% less isolation.

i use the triple flange for it .... after cutting the upper small tip ( so it is double flange now :D)....it is great and i am using it for now ..... less isolation from the foam one by about 20 -25 %

I'm ready to buy this but I notice that authorised dealers sell these at a much higher price than say for example dealers on Amazon marketplace, i.e. authorised UK dealers charge around £350 while on Amazon marketplace it can be had for £260+ which seems like a huge difference IMO.

I am concerned about buying fakes so I was wondering, do most SE535 owners here buy from authorised dealers? I don't mind the lack a warranty but would it be possible to pay Shure to fix a malfunctioning unit bought from an unauthorised dealer (assuming it's not a fake).

Yeah, the out of warranty prices are pretty reasonable at $84 to replace/exchange either earpiece and $16 for the cable.

But how risky is it to buy from an unauthorised dealer?

Technically if you have a problem, Shure may not repair it at all. If you are concerned, call Shure customer service and ask. I will say I have never heard anyone who has a Shure product being denied service or repair. It is a risk that is all.

They won't repair earphones from unauthorised resellers.  Been there done that and got the tshirt as they say. Came out the other end wiser.

What about the risk of fakes, I'm looking at the following at the moment, really good prices but unauthorised (possibly fakes?):

- Amazon marketplace: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Shure-SE535-In-Ear-Isolating-Earphones/dp/B003S3RD7O/ref=aag_m_pw_dp?ie=UTF8&m=A2GF1W9NWP8LJL

- Simply Electronics: http://www.simplyelectronics.net/mainproduct.php?pid=10974&sd=specs

Should I go for it or not?

I got my se535 for about 280€ new, there were some discounts involved tough. Base price was dropped around -25%, and i had a coupon for -25% on headphones so...

Help plz?  I need a new cable (mine broke) but I'm leaving on a trip.  Anyone know where you can buy any kind of replacement cable for these (ue 900 cables, etc..) in Los Angeles?

I have cut the triple flange down to a single flange. It sounds really good and has an easy fit for me.

I'm not sure if Shure wanted us to customise our own tip with the triple flange :)
