Shure SE535: Reviews and First Impressions Thread - Page 173

ShureLover, thats a great price for them considering it came with the cable! I paid about $490 brand new shipped to Canada. Number one thing to watch out for in my opinion is to be very careful taking the sleeves off. Already broke the nozzles off changing the foam tips once. The nozzle on my old 530s feel much more sturdy

Jay19,

Yes I agree (Great Deal!). I spoke to him on the phone prior to buying. Original cables, and the upgraded cable. Whole setup would've costed me well over $700.00 plus the wait time. Very nice guy. I was very lucky. Been wanting these for a long time now after reading so many great reviews here.

Thank you very much for the tip on caring of the ear buds / connector area. I'll be sure to go easy when connecting / disconnecting them. I just wish I had a set of regular 535s to compare. But knowing I have the upgraded (better lower end / separation) I guess I should be happy wink.gif

Burn in with BAs? Is this a actual fact.. I hear no and I hear yes.. I think our brains getting use to sound has alot to do with it no??

I didn't really notice any burn-in effect with my Shure LTDs. Having said that though, i still chose to burn them in playing music when i wasnt using them. I think alot of it is psychological (at least for me it is).

BTW: These sound very nice!! I'm very happy with them. I used to have the older model (530PTHs), but lost them. Anything advice on this new set would be appreciated. Anything to look out for? Dare I say, Burn-in?

Damn man, it came with Double Helix?

So jealous.

Though I did buy mine new for ~$350 overseas biggrin.gif

Well, for 500 you get the set new. So with the cable it's not bad. You can get them for almost $400 on earphonesolutions pretty regularly if you look for online discount codes. But with the cable in there and knowing they work with no problems, if you like them I'd say it was worth it and to keep them and enjoy them. :-)

I had to get used to mine, but I didn't notice any burn in with mine personally... I'd buy a jds c5 for them though :-)

Yeah I'd agree with the lack of burn in for them. It's more you really have to get use to the sound signature of Shure.

It's funny, I never had to get used to Shure's sound signature. Pretty much every other brand I had to warm up to over time. Not Shure.... Sorry for the random comment ><...

I didn't really have to get used to the sound signature, but more the lack of treble. :-P haha.  Although, I guess you could say I never got used to it, as I got rid of them. ;) hahaha.

I came from UE/AT so Shure was a big change for me :P But now I have a pair of TF10s and it's taking me a while to get use to those. I do love the Shure mids so much tho .___.

As do I. I've never loved vocals on any other universal more than my SE530...
