The question was asked if you could buy 535 Ltd's in the US. I've seen them in airports at the InMotion stores (Immotion? something)

Unfortunately, the one sold in U.S. airports although red in color is NOT the special edition with the extended treble. The special edition is only sold in Asia but can be purchased through ebay or Accessory Jack out of Hong Kong. On the SE535 Special Edition thread here at head-fi someone noted that they had contacted Shure directly and the Shure representative stated that they have no plans on selling the SE 535 special edition in the U.S. or Europe.

Wow! I didn't realize that! I thought maybe Shure decided to sell them only through that vendor in Airports. I'm glad I didn't take that plunge, though I was unlikely to pay $549 for them. Thanks for the correction!

I am happy to help. I think the problem is people on the site use limited and special edition interchangeably. Unfortunately, the one sold in US airports is the "limited" edition and the one sold in Asia is the "special" edition with the enhanced treble.

^Yup.

There should also be "Special Edition" labelled on the box itself.

My TF10s arrived yesterday!

Does any one have a pic of this red limited edition non special edition shure? I can't say i have ever heard of it before today.

Also, for those who want more sound stage, you may want to give this a try. I originaly read about this somewhere on here, but didnt think it would make a big enough difference to try. When inserting the foam tip onto the shures, only push it far enough that it just covers the hump and stays on securely. On my shure 535 LTD with comply tips, the sound stage, separation, and bass increased by quite a bit!

Wow! thanks for providing the link spook76! Has anyone gotten their hands on one of these, or seen what the packaging looks like? Curious as to if they used the same packaging claiming "newly tuned acoustic network"

I have seen it at the airport and no there is no claim to a newly tuned acoustic network as there is with the SE 535 Special Editions. Here is a link to the 535 Special Editions:    http://www.shureasia.com/products/earphones/se535ltd

I feel the same. I to paid a premium to get the 535 Special Editions and had to wait almost a month to get them from Hong Kong.

Joined this forum today. I just bought a pair of used SE 535-Ltd (Japan). set was used for about couple of weeks (came mint condition), and also came with upgraded Symbyote Double Helix Upgraded cables. All for $500.00 Good deal?

BTW: These sound very nice!! I'm very happy with them. I used to have the older model (530PTHs), but lost them. Anything advice on this new set would be appreciated. Anything to look out for? Dare I say, Burn-in?
