I found a good deal on something else and had to sell these to fund them smily_headphones1.gif While I do miss the DBA-02 esp since they gotten popular again due to them being shipped a couple weeks ago I have no regrets.

How do this stack up when compared with the TF10s?

I sold my TF10 shortly after getting the DBA.

The mids of the DBA are much more engaging.  The TF10 sounded more recessed in comparison.

The bass of the TF10 was fuller, but had a mid-bass hump that I found annoying.

The DBA treble sparkles a lot mroe then the TF10.  Almost a little to aggressive.  In my case, the DBA has mroe sibilance, but that can be nullified by using comply tx-100 tips.

Overall the frequency response is much more balanced on the DBA, which is what I was looking for.

thanks for the review rawrster. seeing as how you own a re0 and rezero before, how do you think the dba-02 weighs up against them? i own a re0 myself which i've defoamed and listen to without filters and they are absolutely awesome sounding...i'm thinking of getting a dba-02 because i can achieve a better fit and hopefully improved isolation on those since they are compatible with ety triflanges. Are there significant upgrades in sound over the re0?

It's been a while since I owned the RE0 but I did compare the RE-Zero and DBA-02 when I had the both of them. The DBA-02 is the superior earphone and I would consider it a more refined RE-Zero. It has better build quality, less microphonics and a bit better isolation but it does require deeper insertion to achieve that better isolation. However the DBA-02 is not as readily available and you will need patience in waiting for them. I find the DBA-02 to be better balanced than the RE-Zero and hence the RE0 as well esp  in the bass region. They aren't as thin as the HifiMan earphones can be but definitely not bass heavy.

thanks for that quick response! Reason I'm asking is because there's gonna be an IT/audio exhibition where I live, and the dba-02's are gonna be officially released at a special promo price :). How much did you get it for back then?

I got mine for $170 or so around 3 weeks or so before this review was written. I'm not positive about price but somewhere between 160-170.

I enjoyed writing this review so it's good that you enjoyed reading it. Picking something to buy is definitely getting harder. I'll have another review up in a week or two that should be pretty interesting (at least I think so) but it probably will be my 2nd most difficult review to write so that will take a while but I continue to be surprised at how little you have to spend to get quality gear.

Great review. Thanks. I've bought some of these, based on this review and the one at http://www.head-fi.org/t/484569/review-fischer-audios-dba-02, and I'm very happy with them.
