Due to a change in my job, I am reluctantly having to sell off some of my prized possessions to raise some cash. Life can be a ***** sometimes, but family has to come first.
I am the original owner of this WA22 amp & bought it just 7 months ago from Jack. Some UK Head-Fi'ers may remember it from the UK meet that I organised last November. Needless to say, it's in fantastic condition and frankly hardly even run in as it's had really light use. I bought it from Jack with the full compliment of tube upgrades, including the EML 5U4G rectifier, Sylvania 7236 and CV181 treasures, and I have also since bought a number of other tubes and adapters, which are included in this sale. I liked the Raytheon VT-99 1944 NOS driver tubes so much I bought an extra spare pair, so this amp has a LOT of listening life in it before any more money needs to be spent. I know some people prefer the Mazda 6FQ7, well I'm including a pair of those as well, virtually unused (and the relevant adapters of course).
These tubes are not easy to find, and as we know, the exchange rate does not favour sterling at the moment, so this is a great opportunity for a UK/EUR (or indeed elsewhere) enthusiast to own one of the best balanced amps around, with some of the best tubes available.
In total, this lot has cost me at least $3500 (~£2400), just a few months ago. I'd rather not mess about with lowball offers, so my asking price is £1650 including delivery to UK/Euro. If someone from the USA or elsewhere is interested (this is a multi-voltage unit), then I'm happy to get a quote on international shipping and work out a deal.
I am also selling my Sennheiser HD800 (w/ balanced Moon Audio cable), Darth Beyers, HD600, Headphile MS2s, Mapletree EAR+ HD2, and maybe even my HF-2 (adverts to follow shortly). Obviously, the balanced HD800 in particular is a fantastic match with this amp & the tubes I have obtained. If anyone is interested in a package deal, I'm open to offers, a great way to jump straight into the high end & save some £££.
At the UK Headfi meet...
Cheers. Mark.
