Alternatives to Lehmann Black Cube Linear

The Lehmann Black Cube Linear sells for about $1,100. Could anyone recommend any alternative full size headphone amps of equal or better quality ANYWHERE under $1,000? (not including the Matrix M-Stage Lehmann clone as I am interested in what other DESIGNS are available.)

What should I be checking out in the $300 (Matrix M-Stage) - $1,000 (Lehmann) range?

Thanks!

PS Audio GCHA, which was originally $999, can now be had for $499.

I'd look into the goldpoint pro.. It's going on version 8 now I believe.. Just the company just charges you the stock price at 550.00 if you buy new. (As far as I know, the latest mods are included). With all the upgrades the same amp will cost me around 800 or so.. So it's a good bargain.. Similar to the stock GS1. You can check out my review, which includes the first upgrade V5..

Why is the Lehman so expensive? Even upgraded components should'nt  warrant such an outrageous price.

Hi buddy you have been asking this same question for five months. Have you tried any amp yet? All these great opinions the best one is going to be your own listening with your gear. Only you can decide what  is best for you.

I did borrow a Lehmann finally and a pair of HD800s. The Lehmann is a terrific amp no doubt, but I thought the combo was a bit lame compared to my speaker setup. I am not buying anything at this time.

well there you have it so no need to find out what works now and it will never be better than a speaker setup. It is different but it is also good iMO

I wouldn´t pay that much for the Lehmann. It´s around 700 euros here in the EU and everything is overpriced here because of the high taxes etc... 1000 dollars is not a good deal if you ask me. For that amount  you should be getting a stepped volume control and a way beefier power supply than what´s in the Lehmann´s aluminum box.
