To me the different getters do not make too much difference.

I would be happy with any of them really.

I have not done too much critical listening with the BA so I can't be more helpful I am afraid.

@rsogr63,  I have the Philips Miniwatts ECC35 long bottle , brown base and found that they are excellent

in soundstage , detail and sweet sound.   However the sound may be a  little too bright for me for LCD3.

KingStyles has described the sound of the short bottle , brown base that I like but it is more difficult to find

with a good price, will the black base do that?  any other suggestion?  Tungsol 6SU7GTY 's are also very

good but I would like to have some sweetness to the sound.

As far as I can conclude, based on my experience with ZD, ECC35 Mullard, brown base, long glass are the sweetest and less refined than say Brimar, COSSOR, which I believe is also Brimar made, and Tung Sol, however I never tried short bottle version of ECC35, but I tried both, long and short, of ECC33 and long one with Black base sounded not that special to my ears using on my Cary.  By the way, same ECC35 long glass version sounded terrible in Yoshino EAR HP4.

Can this be just an mismatch, amp & headphones or amp & tube or both?

@Blackmore : Thanks for your info.  I have tried both Mullard ECC33 short bottle and the Philips Pope ECC33 long bottle brown

base , both of them are excellent with the BA.  However I think the ECC35 drive the LCD3 better , while other headphones ECC33 or

ECC35 are excellent.   I have one Cossor 6SN7GT and it also looks like the Brimar to me.  I am now trying the KenRad 6SL7GT with

the metal music of Avenged Seven Fold "nightmare" and it works very well with the LCD3.

I finally got my hands on a NOS ECC32! I can't wait for it to get here so I can compare it to my current favorite, the ECC35.

That's good news, well done!

Which type did you get?

It's a Mullard Brown Base. Not sure what the mica style or getter type is yet.
