There needs to be a detailed shootout with the LCD-2 and the HE-6.
Stat owners trying these have a comment on the comparison?

I can't wait to hear them at RMAF CanJam.
I think there needs to be a comparison between the HE-6 and the HE-6 at this point.
Any chance the loaners will be swapped out for latest model?
PICs please.
Here's the pictures I made of the HE6 prototype. It's too bad the design changed. They're still pretty though. My favorite is the last one, I wanted to convey the idea of the gold inside.
excellent pics. i much prefer the prototype to the latest version.
a moderator went to Fang's house and has declared them better than the prototype and an LCD2 killer. since Head-Fi is in the business to hype and sell products, this is the only comparison we need here.
Unless you are actually thinking of buying a pair based upon your own impressions formed during the loaner program. No one has ears like me, or you, or any particular Head-fi moderator. What immtbiker hears is what immtbiker hears. They sound very good to him, but that doesn't mean they will be perfect for everyone else. I will probably receive the loaner pair tomorrow or the next day. But I will not be able to order the final production version based upon my impressions of them, and I don't have access to meets or to anyone with the production version because I am in an isolated location.
Fang has shown that he isn't really interested in any more listener opinions of the HE6 as the production version of them has already been finalized, but even so the production version is so different from the loaner version that we in the loaner program need comparisons between the two versions of the HE6 for reference. I know that if I don't have that comparison, I cannot purchase the headphones because they are so different from the loaners that I am about to audition.
So like I said earlier, what's the point of a headphone prototype loaner program if it doesn't let you audition a pair of headphones that can be purchased, or take your feedback into consideration for tweaking the final production version?
Head-Fi is not in the business to hype and sell products. Why would Head-Fi have any vested interest in this?. What you're saying makes no sense. If that were the case, then I would be un-hyping and unselling the LCD-2 in the name of Head-Fi. That's a genuis statement.
Your nasty comment is why Head-Fi has changed so drastically in the past couple of years. There's no reason to be venomous like that, and your comment is totally un-called for.
It was my opinion as a member.

i was being sarcastic and i agree with your sentiments. i guess Fang gave these out for our benefit to sample and to get people talking about them, and not necessarily for feedback for final production tuning. but hyping the final production model while the loaner program is still out has a foul stench to it...

The loaner program has been going on for almost 3 months now. People had certain complaints, and the manufacturer heard them and made changes accordingly. Should we wait another 12 weeks until all loaner members get a second round with the new headphone.
Early purchasers will post their opinions, and you will have that to go on, and whatever the return period is for you to make sure if the product is right for you or not. I don't see any better way. People complained about the need for a speaker amp loud and clear and they did whatever it took to amend that need.
That came from people in the first half of the program. Should a company not make changes, or hold back from releasing a headphone that they feel is improved? Hasn't Audeze made constant changes in the last 3 months? Should the people who bought them without the changes feel slighted? If so, there is a no-win situation here.
I'm not sure how you think it could have been done better.
If you buy them, and don't like them, you have the option of sending them back.
