Have you tried searching for "a" recently? Then immediately searching something else?
Searching any number of characters, as many times as you want, is a definite upgrade.
Some of the new stuff is great, I like the wiki, reviews, head gear, home page, random stuff on the side. It's the interface that sucks. More clicking, things scrolling all over the place, slow loading post editor thing, yet more clicking. And the colour/style change is unusually irritating, it's very strange. I really hate it, not the brightness as such, but the loose, undefined, free-flowing, no hard edge scheme. Like a Web 2.0 example from 10 years ago, or one of those style-over-function flash company websites.
Most importantly it doesn't work on my phone browser (S60), I never tried the old site on my phone so I don't know if it's always been like that. But not being able to reply to PMs when out and about is frustrating.
