Organizing Music Program?

Thread Starter

I don't know if this is the right section, but I need some help. I like my music on my device to be organized, and not just cluttered with the artist name being "01" or "unknown artist".

Is there a program that will run through my music, renaming it properly?

I use a Xperia X10 if that helps...

Thanks a lot

I use MediaMonkey to organize my music. It's great for tagging, getting missing album art, etc.

i assume you are saying you have a number of untagged and/or improperly tagged files and you would like them properly tagged and organized neatly into folders

http://musicbrainz.org/  i know this site links to some programs that will take care of the tagging and renaming

also mp3tag has the ability to do tagging and renaming but has no ability to scan songs and determine the correct tags

MusicMonkey is great. It's actually a music library, and it's probably the best out there by far for tagging and editing music files for a library. But I know what you're talking about so try getting MP3 Tag Studio. It's pretty nice. You can edit basically everything about the mp3 file so that the filename can be to your liking. Or, if you don't like it or just wanna find other possible programs, head to the Winamp Forums and search 'edit mp3' and you should find some other programs.

Been using that one for years. A bit of manual labor to do when tagging but I wouldnt want it any other way. Excellent freeware.
