SOLD: Rockhopper M^3 / MMM / M³ Amp (CANADA / USA)

Mint condition Rockhopper M^3 up for sale.

I've used all the headphones in my profile with this amp and it's handled all of them with aplomb. A jack-of-all-trades amp that can power any headphone on the market and my personal favourite amp of the ones I've owned/heard so far. IMHO, you'd be hard-pressed to find a commercial amp even close to the M^3 in sound quality at this price point. It's also very versatile as the sound can be changed within seconds with the opamps included. I'm only selling it to try a GS-1 (order pending).

For more info on the technical merits of the amp click here: http://www.amb.org/audio/mmm/

This M^3 uses quality parts and comes with the following:

-Gain Switch (Gain 5 and Gain 11)

-Extra opamps to tailor the sound: 3 x AD8610, 3 x AD8065, 2 x OPA637, 1 x OPA627, 3 x AD843 and the 3 default opamps it came with (don't remember the names).

-Silver-coated copper stranded wire throughout

-Elna Simic Capacitors

-Neutrik RCA Jacks

-Vishay/Dale Resistors

-Alps Blue Velvet volume pot

The opamps alone cost me ~ $130 (soldered onto browndogs/shipped by Rockhopper).

The amp alone costs $450+shipping from Rockhopper these days. I'm selling the M^3 with the extra opamps for $SOLD. The Sigma-11 has been sold as well. Thanks for all the interest.

Price drop.

Sweet amp for sure. I will consider taking the Sigma 11 if anyone likes the M3 w/o it. BTW, what is the connection between M3 and the Sigma 11? Three prong or regular plug (center pin + sleeve)?

Paypal sent for the Sigma 11.

I thought that the M3 needed a separate power supply unit in order to be most effective...with the Sigma 11 sold what will serve as the PSU or am I missing something?

I originally used an inexpensive Elpac wall-wart PSU before I got my Sigma-11. It can be bought for $11 bucks here: http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=EPS468-ND

It powers the M^3 adequately and although the Sigma-11 produces an audible improvement, the differences between the Elpac wall-wart and Sigma-11 are subtle IMO.
