X2 on the 701s

From the fairly extensive research I've been doing over the past couple weeks, the best performing unamped set in the mid-fi price range seems to be the ATH-M50. It's the only one where people didn't mention huge improvements with an amp, yet still gave it stellar reviews. The frequency response graph looks good too, at least for the price range. I ordered one for work and should be getting it soon. Hurry up, UPS!
