Interesting, although that link you posted has shipping charges so it's actually not sub-$600 as you said but I appreciate your posting none the less. Combine that with the Lawton Audio cups which cost nearly $250 shipped and the fact that they barely EVER come up for sale separately from the headphones on the used market.

Even if I do price the headphones at $550 and the cups at $175 for a total of $725 it's still a deal considering I'm including expert packaging, materials, full insurance, and shipping as well.  This isn't just your typical "throw it in a priority mail flat rate box with one sheet of small bubble wrap, already used peanuts, and delivery confirmation type deal".  This is done by a professional who ships more packages daily than most people receive in a whole year.

So with "The Big Sleep" not so sub-$600 headphone link and brand new LA cups you're look at around $850 new.

Buy from me and you get a savings of around $125 which equate to over $100 worth of items from a McDonalds $1 menu =)

Im not trying to be a prick, Poetik, Im just saying you can find them for ~$600 Brand New, shipped, yada yada yada but your asking price is still a good deal. I honestly want these cans but Im just the type of buyer that likes to nag the seller to a lower price

Free bump for Cedric! Great person to deal with, its true about to great packing :) Whoever gets the headphones is really getting themselves a good deal, I'm surprised it lasted this long!

how are these not sold, yet?

If i didn't have an OTL amp, I would have instantly jumped on these.

Was the markl mod done by lawton audio or by a 3rd party?

If you're talking about the MarkL mod on the Lawton Audio cups then yes it was done by Lawton Audio.

I think he was asking about the dynamat dampening, not the custom cups. If you got the headphones directly from mark (ask original owner where they were purchased), there's a good chance he did it himself. Otherwise it could be 3rd party. Just try grabbing a few pics of the dampening, if it looks good it should attract more buyers. good luck

Thanks for the concern pdupiano, I'll be sure to get some pics inside of the headphones so everyone can see.

Everything that has been done to the headphone is described in my original post.  MarkL gives people the option to dampen their LA cups when purchasing the cups and that option was chosen when the cups were purchased.  The cups themselves are dampened by Lawton Audio and the rest of the headphone isn't (which I prefer because the full MarkL mod takes away too much of the great Denon bass).

I hope that clarifies things for you guys.

Another bump to the top.

Guys, don't settle for a modded D2000/D5000 when you can get the highest tier of Denon's for only a little bit extra.  If you do then you'll end up kicking yourself in the butt because you'll always wonder what Denon's "best" headphone sounds like =)
