Am I crazy? Stock iBuds have a nice midrange, treble, and rendition of female vocals? - Page 2

I agree. I was shocked how good the iBuds sound. I was expecting horrendous SQ from stock buds, but they actually don't sound bad.

Gear mentioned in this thread:

This is the best I could find (from PCMag.com).

I think it's a hit or miss with the iBuds (with more misses than hits). I got a new pair from buying my iPod Touch 2G a year ago, and compared them to my iPod Nano 2G (they are both 2nd generation iBuds). The difference was dramatic. The new ones had alot more soundstage, and clarity, with tighter bass. The old ones sounded "farty" with drums, but the new ones had meat in it. At the time I was looking for IEMs to replace them, as AH-D1001s are way too big to carry around. After listening to them though, my search for those IEMs didn't seem as urgent.

That said, after finding $17 UE Metro.fi 200s in a clearance bin at HMV(sealed new too!), I replaced them in half a heartbeat.

iBuds were fun for a while, but not THAT fun. lol  I just loved making my brother jealous by having better sounding iBuds of the same model.

Thanks. It really looks like the one though

Regardless of sound, they hurt like hell!  I honestly can't have 'em for more then 5 to 10 minutes before I have to take them out.  And my ears hurt for another 10 minutes after that :p
