Cardas cable plug discoloration or scratch

Hi...I just got a used cardas cable (grey one) for my HD 600...the plug is not shinny silver finish anymore..instead, it has discoloration, like copper color (like a penny coin color at the tip...will it degrade the SQ? I compare it to my smurf blue cable which is indeed older..and found that the blue one has warmer and fuller sound...will that scratch or discoloration on the plug cause it?

 

Do you guys has this problem?

 

Will cardas fix it if I contact them?

contact them and ask them if they will replace it . so the silver plating got scratched off it shouldn't make a difference unless its corroding.

how do I differ corroding or scratch off? color wise?
