Question about Sansa Clip+ - Page 2

post #16 of 24

Does the card class make a difference in the Refresh when you first load the card?

Is it worth it to get a Class 4 vs 2 if you only listen to music?

Loading up music on the player itself only goes in at around 3 mb/sec on my players which would be equivalent to Class 2.

ok so its FINALLY in production. sigh. i have a question. ive heard that rockbox is very good. however, i also heard that it has a lot of bugs. if i rockbox my clip can i take it off if i dont like it?

Rockbox is fantastic, it offers;

  • Better battery life
  • Easier browsing
  • Better EQ
  • Gapless playback
  • Games
  • Way more settings to play with if you desire
  • Faster database refreshes/loads with a SD card

And to top it all off if you don't like it, you can simply delete the .rockbox folder and remove it or you always have the option to boot up into the OF.

As far as bugs concerned, there is none really. People have been having great success since the more recent release of a stable port. I've been using it for a few months now and haven't had any problems.

I thought the Clip+ version was still listed as Unstable. Or is it actually stable, but just officially unstable.

From my limited understanding of the rockbox site it's officially stable... but I honestly don't know. The rockbbox site always confuses me.

You are correct, I believe.
